these are pictures of the items that have been handed down to me. the knife is the one carried by my great uncle pete and it has the number 489 and the U.S. stamp on it. the other side has the case stamp. The heart is a mystery to me, it has the insignia of the fssf and a map that has anzio, roma, cassino, Bari, Taranto, Palermo, Catania, Naples, and Mt. Masigio? It is hard to read so please excuse me for misspelling or miss reading it. the other side has many signatures on it, but not my uncle Pete's. I was wondering if anyone out there knew what exactly this is and if any of you have held it or signed it.

Very Happy

Perharps signatures from 3rd Company 3rd regiment members!!!
Do you have the FSSF roster?
It's not easy to read a name on your pics!!!

The V42 is a very nice one.

Thanks to share.

New heirlooms Empty Well.....

Post  Brad Tue Dec 01, 2009 12:32 am

After much squiting, and comparing possible names in the official roster, I think I figured out a few of the names:

#2 from top, D.F. Peterson, 6-3, Helena Montana
#5 from top, William "Bill" Todd, 6-3, Montreal Quebec
#6 from top, H.A. Soulis, (unknown), Halifax Nova Scotia
#16 from top, William T. Rachui, 6-3, Marline Texas

Is it possible to take a picture that is a little more in focus, so we can try and make out the rest?

Thanks,

Brad
