V-42 Sheath with different knife on Ebay?
Hey everyone,
I doubt anyone will read this before the auction ends but I found this listing for a WWII knife and the sheath looks identical to a V-42 one. Maybe one of the navy v-42's by the appearence of top of the sheath. Thought i would share in case someone is looking for an orignal sheath if it actually is one.

KNIFE SHEATH
The Knife is home made. In other words, a commercial made knife. Probably a Civilian hunter. But the sheath is made for the M43 Fighting knife issued to the paratroops that were using the M1 Carbine. Many that had a Garand got there hands on them also, but that is what it was made for, the M1 Carbine, as there was no bayonet attachment on the carbine until just before Korea.------Jerry Dufresne
