these are pictures of the items that have been handed down to me. the knife is the one carried by my great uncle pete and it has the number 489 and the U.S. stamp on it. the other side has the case stamp. The heart is a mystery to me, it has the insignia of the fssf and a map that has anzio, roma, cassino, Bari, Taranto, Palermo, Catania, Naples, and Mt. Masigio? It is hard to read so please excuse me for misspelling or miss reading it. the other side has many signatures ...

Hi

Here few items that i found on the Port Cros island:

A FSSF paddle found in a Port Cros house. Behind, you can see the Port Cros Force plaque.

It's a typical US Navy paddle lost on the Port Cros island by the 1st regiment forcemen during the 08/15/1944 assault

An helmet relic from Port Cros

The Port Cros force plaque.

About my work on the battle of Port Cros, please help me. look at my other post:

Thanks to Chuck Samuel!!!

Just a quick well deserved "THANK YOU" to Chuck Samuel who is a Collector of FSSF items as well as many other military items. He took time to drive to Minneapolis for the 2008 FSSFA reunion and shared his items with us all.

Although many collectors may try and get you to "donate" to their collections I overheard multiple times Chuck telling family members of force vets to hold onto their memorabilia.

Here are a few pics from the 2008 reunion of some of his collection.
