The heart is a mystery to me, it has the insignia of the fssf and a map that has anzio, roma, cassino, Bari, Taranto, Palermo, Catania, Naples, and Mt. Masigio?
Hi,

My Father was a member of the, F.S.S.F., Aug., 1941 –Jan., 1946.

I am, Jim Manning, Cpl. U.S.M.C, 1961-1965.

Thank you, Tracy.

I have sent all the information I have for my father and it is posted under His name. There are a couple of stories he wrote that I will be posting, however I must wait until, Tracy, comes to edit them for me.

Hello everyone,

My name is Bruno Aklil from France. Working with Gilles and Nicolas, I keep investigating... the Force in Southern France. Beyond this regional interest I've an admiration for the entire story of the Force. I already had the pleasure to coordinate with Nicolas few events in Maritim Alps with our Italian and British friends.

Well this forum is the opportunity to me to reconnect some old connexions, isn't it John? .

Hope to come oversea one day !

Best regards,

Bruno

He was born in Hot Springs, MT, travelled to Alaska in '39, and then, in the winter of '41, hiked the 1500+ miles of the proposed length of the Alaskan Highway to prove a continuous route existed. He became quite famous for that expedition. He was drafted in '42, attended engineering school in Fort Benning GA, and became a Capt with the FSSF.
Hey everyone,

I doubt anyone will read this before the auction ends but I found this listing for a WWII knife and the sheath looks identical to a V-42 one. Maybe one of the navy v-42's by the appearence of top of the sheath. Thought i would share in case someone is looking for an orignal sheath if it actually is one.

I have no idea where to start as far as finding info on Fort Harrison or if there is a museum. I do know that there is a plaque some where along the highway. We are travelling from Edmonton, Alberta and I would love to have an idea of what we should do ...
